The Titan's Brindisi (in progress)
This is an in-progress collection about the nature of love. Two parts of the collection are complete, and three are in progress.
I.
The lightness of my heart tonight
is made crushing by the weight of you.
The omphalos of my longing overflows,
swelling within the little lungs
that have become your beating home.
I fall to my knees before your shrine.
There is no way out but confession.
These words spill into your pages,
fated inscriptions sealing my ruin.
My darling, you ruin me—can you imagine?
You said you wished to write for me,
so you said, my love, and you did,
and the supernova behind my eyes
wept an adoration of amethyst sky.
II.
I think I’ve loved you too much quietly.
In my dreams I tried to hold you,
and you dissolved into soft wind,
feathers and lavender-scented sparks,
not enough for license to miss you, I fear
I’ve asked too much of the glow between us.
The stars clothe me in their finest silks,
a white gown of jellyfish strands.
For you I could be beautiful,
only for you could I try.
Do you trust me? May I be your bride?
I long for you to lift the veil.
Make me your fluttering dreamcatcher;
Through you, for you, I will shine.
